Introduction and Overview

Take notice that on March 8, 2019, JTI-Macdonald Corp. (the "Applicant" or "JTIM") sought and obtained protection pursuant to the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (the "CCAA") before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) (the "Court"). 

Deloitte Restructuring Inc. has been appointed as monitor in the Applicants' CCAA proceedings (the "Monitor") pursuant to the Initial Order of the Court dated March 8, 2019 (the "Initial Order"). 

The Initial Order provides, among other things, for a stay of proceedings for a period thirty (30) days. The stay period may be extended by the Court from time to time.

On October 2, 2019, the Honourable Justice McEwen granted an Order extending the stay period to March 12, 2020.
