JTI-Macdonald Corp.

Introduction and Overview

Take notice that on March 8, 2019, JTI-Macdonald Corp. (the "Applicant" or "JTIM") sought and obtained protection pursuant to the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (the "CCAA") before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) (the "Court"). 

Deloitte Restructuring Inc. has been appointed as monitor in the Applicant's CCAA proceedings (the "Monitor") pursuant to the Initial Order of the Court dated March 8, 2019 (the "Initial Order").

The Initial Order provides, among other things, for a stay of proceedings. The stay has been extended by the Court from time to time and, by Stay Extension Order issued on March 30, 2023, the stay was further extended to September 29, 2023. This Order and accompanying endorsement are posted below. 

Please be advised that the Court has set aside September 27, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. for the stay extension motion.

​Pursuant to the Zoom Hearing Protocol found in Section 6) of this webpage, for access by the general public, the YouTube link is The YouTube link will allow the general public to review a livestream of the hearing, but not participate in the hearing. For greater clarity, individuals viewing the livestream via YouTube will not be heard or seen by the court, Judge or Participants. No recording of the any part of the hearing (including audio) may be made unless authorized in advance by the court.
